Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkin carving 20-13 has come and gone.  Instead of going all out with one of his crazy carvings this year, Justin decided to let the girls draw their own designs on the pumpkins and then carve those.  It was SO fun to see what the girls came up with... and Justin carved them exactly how they were drawn on the pumpkins.  Hilarious!

Moving on up

My baby-loving girl has been developing new interests as of late... She used to play with her babies all day every day.  I'm sad to say that she picks up her dolls about once a week now.  It kinda breaks my heart.  But Claire has moved on to the wonderful world of ART!  This girl gets out her art supplies before even eating breakfast some days!  She's pumping out at least 20 new pieces of art a day, people!  And she loves writing.. even though she can only spell a handful of words, she is constantly practicing her letters and 'writing songs.'

It just dawned on me today that we're in a new stage with her... and I just never want to forget these stages some day!  Think stacks upon stacks of paper on the counter every night.. it's hard to keep up with!  But I love seeing her develop new interests!  Maybe she'll be an artist like her Daddy.

Just a few

Just a few random pictures from the last week...

Showing off their goodies from the package Grammy sent!

Claire's first picture of Mommy

Offering me some of her 'cookies' she made with Play Doh.

Playing with her babies.  Isn't it crazy that this isn't even half of the dolls we own?!

Our first bundle from our local CSA program.  Excited to try out some locally grown produce!  Challenge from my first bundle - learning to cook collard greens.

Budding Artist

Claire is very much into coloring these days (and is VERY left-handed, by the way).  Most of her pictures resemble giant scribbles.  She has learned how to draw circles and the letter 'C', but other than that, it's usually just scribbles.

My mom was over the other day and reading Emma a book about butterflies.  Claire was listening while Grammy was reading and then said, "I'm going to draw a butterfly."  And that is exactly what she did!  Her first picture... I was impressed!
