So.. we've been working hard over the past couple of months to get things done around our new home. The first thing we did was replace the floor in our master bedroom. Our house is a ranch style and everything in the upstairs minus the kitchen and two of the three bedrooms had a nice, Pergo-type floor. Both bedrooms were carpeted, but we quickly realized the master bedroom carpet was covered in some pretty nasty stains. We... or should I say Justin ripped up the carpet and laid a floor similar to the rest of the upstairs. I'd like to say I helped but I mostly did things like get Justin more water when he was thirsty and keep him company while he worked. I tried to help, but our styles of work are oh-so-different! Justin is quite the perfectionist, so he likes to take his sweet time and make sure it's perfect. (I'm glad for that!) Me, on the other hand.... I like to just get things done and I'm rather impatient... so anyway, we're learning how to work together.. :) I'm mostly learning patience and to be thankful he's a perfectionist with these types of projects. Anyway, then we painted that room. Justin's mom and stepdad came for a weekend and helped Justin with another big project. We couldn't have done it without them.. thanks Karen and Carl!! The closet door in the master bedroom was quite small and made it difficult to get to everything in the closet. So.. they fixed that problem by tearing out part of the wall, exposing the entire closet, and then putting new closet doors on. They also installed one of those fabulous closet systems. It's great!! So the master bedroom is done!
The crib bedding came last week (I LOVE it!!!!) so we picked out a paint color and I've spent this week priming and painting the nursery. I have one more coat of paint to finish today and then the painting should be done! We chose a light pink to match the bedding and we're going to add some horizontal black stripes around the top or middle of the room. We had originally planned to leave the carpet in that room, but after spending many hours in there, I've come to realize that that carpet is also totally stained and disgusting! The previous owners of our house had a cat and I think the cat chose the carpet over the litter box... gross!! So now we've decided to replace the flooring in that room as well. We are going to get the supplies tonight and hopefully work on that this weekend. We also had a new roof put on the house a few weeks ago.
So... slowly but surely things are coming together. I also hope to get the kitchen painted before this baby comes. It's not terrible right now, but definitely not my first choice. The landscaping also needs some serious help. That is something we'll hopefully be able to work on this fall.
I haven't even taken any pics of the house yet.. but once we have things complete, I'll do that and post some. Back to work I go...

Annie, Sam and I are so like you and Justin! Sam is so particular about getting things just right and spends a lot of time on things and I on the other hand just like to get things done like you. It is so hard! Sounds like you two have been keeping busy with these home improvements, I feel your pain. We are planning on starting to finish the basement ourselves this fall and I'm not really looking forward to it due to the working styles we both have!
