Packing

So, I'm about to start packing for our cruise. Our flight leaves early Monday morning (like 5:30 AM early!) so we're going to drive to the Quad Cities tomorrow and stay with Justin's brother and sister-in-law on Sunday night so we don't have to wake up at like 2 AM on Monday to catch our flight. Before I start to pack, I'm stopping to think about how this is the last time packing for a trip will be relatively easy. I've heard both my sister Jorie and sister-in-law Roxanne talk about how the whole issue of packing changes entirely when you have kids. I have no idea what that will be like, but I'm going to enjoy myself while I pack today, knowing it will never be this easy again! Roxi emailed me recently and said, "Enjoy your last few months of pre-mommyhood." That really hit me because, to me, pregnancy so far has just been the looong waiting process until this little girl arrives and I get to be her mommy!! I hadn't really thought of it as "the last" of something. But.. she's right! So, I'm attempting to do exactly that and really enjoy my time with just me and Justin. Here's to a week of sun, relaxation, and pre-baby bliss!

**Side note - I totally did NOT write my last blog entry about baby's name to give you all the hopes of the big reveal. I've gotten comments, emails, and facebook messages about what a tease that last entry was. Sorry, folks!! That wasn't my intention at all... just trying to tell the story! :) **

Um, yeah. Packing is so much more involved. I just got back from a 4 day trip to my parents with the boys and the back of the van was pretty full. At least when we go to grandparents' house we don't have to pack a crib or toys.
We are getting ready to leave for a couple nights and I'm already mentally putting things together.
Even a spur of the moment in town excursion takes 20 minutes preparation to get shoes on, go to the bathroom, and get in the van (add another 10 if it is winter). So much for spontaneity!

Ooooooo, soooooo jealous. Heh, j/k, very happy for you guys to get a great getaway before Baby Shoe arrivals. Hope you guys can find some good weather down there -- I'm sure the boat will steer far clear of good 'ol Gustav and hopefully there won't need to be too many last minute changes to your cruise itinerary. I'm sure they will take good care of you, no worries!
