Operation: Share a Room

We have just started a big project in our home:  operation girls sharing a room!  With moving far away and hoping to be hosting lots of visitors, we wanted to have a guest bedroom. (Consider that your invitation to come visit! :)  Because of this, we have decided to have the girls share a bedroom.  With them both being girls and so close in age, I think they will really enjoy it (hopefully!).

Anyway, we started phase 1 of our operation this past weekend, which was to get Emma out of the crib and sleeping in a big girl bed.  The girls will eventually be sharing bunk beds but we decided to put Emma on her mattress on the floor to get her used to that first.  After a few more weeks when Emma is used to the bed, we'll get them in the same room.

She did great with the transition and, although she cries when I put her down now (which she never used to do), she settles down after a couple of minutes.  Here are some pics of her checking out her new set up.

That is awesome! You'll have to let me know how it goes because our ultimate goal is to have the boys share a room as well.

She must love getting in and out on her own. Does she still stay in bed in the morning and play until you come to get her?
