It occurred to me today that our baby with be the gender tiebreaker for both my parents' grandchildren and for Justin's mom and stepdad's grandchildren. My parents currently have four granddaughters and four grandsons and Karen and Carl have six granddaughters and six grandsons!
This pregnancy has been pretty similar to my previous pregnancies so far. I have craved sweets and carbs with all of my pregnancies and I have gained a lot of weight (especially in the first trimester when you really aren't supposed to gain anything). I didn't have morning sickness... although when I was pregnant with Claire and Emma, I had random bouts of nausea and threw up several times with each of them. This pregnancy I didn't throw up even once. (Sorry sickies...) Baby's heart rate has been high in the 160's the whole time.. just like my girls. I think I'm carrying a little lower this time, but that could be because it's my third??
All of this leads me to believe that this sweet one will be another girl. It's honestly hard to imagine a boy in our pink-loving, drama-filled, princess-everything home! We were having some friends over for a play date the other day (two of which were boys) and Emma said, "But Mom! We don't have any boy toys!" That being said, we truly would be thrilled with either gender (I know everyone says that but it's really true)! I am just dying to find out.
For the record, I'm guessing GIRL and Claire, Emma, and Justin are guessing BOY. So, what do you think? Are we going to stick to our all girl pattern? Or will Justin finally have someone on his team?

I'm gonna root for a boy just to even your team out a little. We'll send over some boy toys if needed. ;)
First of all, I am so proud of you for not finding out. It's an awesome surprise after all the hard work is over!
OK, my vote is GIRL... weighing in at 9.9 on Dec. 29.
In case you are blessed with a boy and another nephew for us (YAY!), the Dill boys will gladly pass along their baby boy clothes to their new cousin.
We don't have any boy toys either - with the exception of one truck and a couple of nerf dart guns (which the girls actually love.) I totally know the feeling - in some ways it would just be easier to have a girl since that is what we know but a boy would be new and different (and probably less drama.) But I just think in our family - "oh, the poor boy with three older sister." I was really leaning toward ours being a boy at first but once I quite nursing Savannah my hormones sort of evened back out a bit and now I am not so sure. I wasn't nearly as sick this time around plus I could notice some hormonal differences from the other three pregnancies. I don't know if it was because I was still nursing this time or because maybe we have a different gender in there - time will tell - for both of us. Just randomly, I am guessing girl for you guys =). Glad you waited to find out.
I have one boy who gives Ella a run for her money in the drama department, so if you do have a boy you may still get more drama! You will need some boy toys though. I already told you I keep thinking you're having a boy, but that may be because the last two (or three or four?)babies in your extended families were boys. :-)
Team Pink. No idea. I'm 50% sure it will be a girl.
I'm guessing boy! With lots of hair:)
I'm going to vote girl:):) So excited for you!!!!! And I love the room that your mom did...she should totally open an Etsy shop, it's beautiful!
Can't wait to find out!
Hmmmm... Such a hard one! I'm kind of expecting another sweet girl but I'll guess BOY just for fun! I agree it's hard to imagine. What a wonderful surprise it will be either way! Xoxo!
I'm going to vote girl. I've got a few sources...recent history, and my own best guess.
OOh this makes me SO EXCITED for you!!! I actually decided that I think baby Shoe is a BOY and that he will arrive on Christmas Eve! And that for a split second, you consider naming him Kris Kringle. ;)
I have been thinking boy since you shared the good news :) Prayers for safe and healthy either way!
I'm going to guess boy. No rhyme or reason. Each of my kids followed a different pattern as far as heart rate etc. so...I'm guessing boy, December 27, 8lb 2oz. :)
I'm guessing boy! Many are predicting that we're having a girl, so let's keep Dad/Karen's numbers even. It doesn't matter to us, though several want a boy and I just want a baby. :) Enjoy regardless, sending prayers for a healthy niece or nephew!

So happy for your sweet family! I am totally guessing GIRL! I come from a family of three girls and love it! Either way, this baby is a blessing and it is so lucky to join your family!
Here's a throw-back to all the Ed. research we use to read :) This is from the National Longitudinal Study of Youth conducted by the US Dept. of Labor. I know, NERD ALERT!
Odds of Having a Boy:
The odds of having a boy seem to increase after having girls, except after 2 girls, when a 3rd girl is more likely.
Previous Children % Boy Births
None 51% Boys
1 Girl 54.5% Boys
2 Girls 46.0% Boys
3 Girls 52.7% Boys
So there you go...research shows GIRL!
I'm gonna go with boy! And I think he will be born on December 31 and weigh 9 lb. 13 oz.!!
Girl :) But I am so. bad. at guessing. I'm never right! We are with you, though- I have NO girl toys! Feel so bad if any girls ever come over ;)
