Visit from the Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Engstrom (my dad's parents) came to visit! They were visiting my parents this weekend in Cedar Rapids, but came down to Iowa City on Saturday to see our new house. They live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and made the five hour drive to Cedar Rapids themselves. That's pretty amazing considering they are 92 and 95 years old! They just celebrated 71 years of marriage.. can you imagine?! My grandpa loves to sing and gave us a tape of him singing "Bless This House" since we just bought a new home. He and a friend go sing for the "old folks" at the nursing home each week. Most of them are probably younger than him! :) We loved hearing them reminisce about their first home they rented together after they got married. It was $32 a month! My grandpa said they were stretching it a bit because he made $26 a week and your weekly income was supposed to cover your monthly rent. Grandparents are such a gift and we loved spending time with them this weekend!
