2 month update

Little Claire-bear is 2 months old! She had her 2 month visit with the pediatrician today. Justin actually had to take her (major props to him for being such a good daddy!) because I've been sick with the flu for the last two days. It's been awful trying to take care of her when I'm hardly able to get out of bed... but thankfully Justin has really stepped up to the plate to help out.

Back to Claire... she weighed in at 10 lbs, 5 oz and is now in the 30th percentile for weight! That's pretty good considering when she was born she was only in the 5th percentile. She's quickly catching up! She is 22 1/4 inches and in the 50th percentile for height. The doctor is pretty sure Claire has reflux, so she gave her a prescription for some medication. Unfortunately that won't help reduce the unbelievable amount of spit-up, but it will help with the pain. Claire gets pretty fussy after she eats so I'm hoping this will help with that. I sent Justin with a long list of questions to ask and he came home with a full report of the answers. :) Claire seems to be doing great in all areas! Her pediatrician is anxious to find out if she's able to come off the oxygen at her appointment next week with the specialist. She was actually really surprised that she is still on it at all. She gave Justin her home email address and wants us to email her after the appointment next week to let her know what happens... what a great doc!! I love that.

So our next trip to the doctor will be next Tuesday. It's been a month since she was seen at the specialty clinic and I'm dying to see what they say about the oxygen. I guess lots of babies who initially need oxygen are ready to come off by 2 months old. Surely this big 10 pound girl is ready to breathe on her own!!
