Happy 2009!

We have had an eventful couple of days! We spent New Year's Eve with Claire's new little buddy, Liam, and his parents. I brought my camera, but forgot to take a pic of the two little babes together. Liam was born just a couple weeks before Claire. Even though our evening was interrupted a few times to feed, soothe, or change a baby's diaper, we had fun! We even made it until midnight! :)

While I was getting ready, Justin was on Claire duty. This is what I found when I got out of the shower... so sweet!! :)

On New Year's Day, we went to my sister and brother-in-law's house. Claire had yet to meet her two cousins, Joel and Silas, so we were so excited to finally introduce them! The original plan was to get them together on Christmas, but Joel ended up getting sick, so we had to postpone. Poor Jorie.. this is the second year in a row that one of her kids has been sick on Christmas. Everyone is healthy now, though! My parents came, too, and we had a delicious brunch together. We also watched the Iowa game (go Hawks!!), played Rock Band, and made up our own version of a game Justin's brother taught us, called Who What Where. Fun times!

Silas was THRILLED to meet his new cousin. He had no interest in playing with his toys the entire time we were there.. he just wanted to hold his cousin! He kept kissing her, rubbing her head, looking at her fingers, etc.. it was precious. Good thing he has a little brother or sister on the way.. he sure loves babies and will be such a good little helper to Jorie!

Although Joel did finally hold Claire, he wasn't quite as interested. He had fun checking out her tiny hands and comparing them to his.
