2 months old!

I can't believe Emma is already 2 months old. It goes by even faster with baby #2! She had her 2 month appointment today. Even though I hate when my babies have to get shots, I like going to these appointments to find out how much they've grown and also to get to ask all of the questions I always have!

Emma weighed in at 13 lbs 3 oz (off the charts). She was 23 in long (90%) and her head was 16 in (90%). So, we certainly don't have any issues with growing!!

She is smiling and cooing so much these days and is much more responsive. It's so fun! I love how over the next several months they do even more things and learn so much. Those first 2 months are the hardest. It just gets more fun from here!

We put Emma to bed each night around 6 or 6:30 and she almost always does a good 7-8 hour stretch before waking up around 1:30 or 2. She then usually wakes up between 5 and 6 for another feeding and is up for the day around 7:30. Emma loves to be swaddled and after she's awake for about an hour during the day, she gets fussy until she's swaddled up and has her paci.

I'm loving getting to know this little girl and learning about what she likes and needs. It's amazing how quickly it seems like being a family of 4 has become normal. I can hardly remember what it was like when we just had one little person to look after. I'm so thankful for God's goodness and that He has entrusted us with these two little lives.

Feeling extra thankful for my role as Mommy today!!

It's great to hear that Emma is strong, healthy, and growing like she should! I can't wait to spend more time with her soon! I felt like I "knew" Claire so much better at 2 months than I do Emma. I guess you're such a pro Mama now that you don't need me around as much :)

Isn't it so true that it goes by much faster with the 2nd one?? It is kind of sad really...what can we do to slow down the time?? I guess just step back and enjoy it as much as we can. Glad to hear Emma is doing so well. Hannah just had her 4 month check and she was 13lbs 6oz....so they are pretty much the same! I love all of Claire's quote - what a fun age!
