Heartbeat
Today we finally got to hear that little baby's heartbeat. My doctor in Atlanta tried to hear it at my last appointment before we moved and couldn't find it and then I had an appointment in Iowa City last week where the nurse tried to find it and couldn't. I began to get a little nervous since it was unable to be heard twice. We were soo relieved today to hear that sweet sound! The heart rate was 162 beats/minute, which is really high. Justin and I both had tears in our eyes when she found it... it really was unbelieveable. The reality of this all sets in more each day and we are trying to enjoy each part of the journey. I'm still very tired and take a nap pretty much everyday. I'm hoping to get some more energy back soon, as I'm 12 weeks today.

JustAnn,
I love that you're bloggin!! Gives me something to do (reading it) in my retirement!!
Hey Baby Shoe! This is your buddy Garrison. I am so excited that your Mommy and Daddy heard your heartbeat today. In a few weeks you need to give your Mommy a swift kick to the bladder so that she can feel you. I am really going to love having a friend in Iowa that I can visit.
What a GREAT name for your blog and a perfect way to share and celebrate this miracle! We can't wait to track with you along each "shoe step" of the journey....
Joel and Silas are thrilled to have another cousin!!!
Yeah God!! We are so excited to be able to read yoru blog and keep up with you all!
Phil and I are so excited for you. Annie, I can relate to the fatigue. I could have taken 2 hour naps everyday when I was pregnant. Sleep now because you won't get to sleep much when Little Shoe enters the world.
