I will say that our spirits are much higher tonight. We are actually having fun (with most things) and there are plenty of things to find humor in. One of which is the current look that our baby girl is sporting. Unfortunately I have no way of posting the pic right now, but will shortly. At first we were bummed because she was looking so cute now that she was wearing onesies and in a regular crib. However, since she moved to the bili light, she is now a naked baby in an incubator. However, we laugh at how cute she looks now...a naked little baby wearing nothing but a preemie diaper and these very fashionable purple sunglasses (basically a foam wrap around the back of her head which velcros onto a tiny sunglass shaped cutout of purple foam. The velcro straps stick out of the top of her head and make her look like shes wearing a little bat mask.) She fits more with Halloween right now then Thanksgiving.
More good news. They have completely removed her IV so she is now fully dependent on mama. I'm not sure if this was a result of how well she is doing or a lack of patience on the nurse's part. The sensor that the IV was hooked into would start beeping every two minutes and the nurse would have to come in and reset it. They inspected everything and nothing appeared wrong, but never fail, two minutes later we'd have this high pitched beeping continuously going until the nurse arrived. We're thankful either way : )
Tomorrow is bath day. One of the great things about staying extra days here at the hospital is that we've had a lot of opportunities to watch the nurses do a variety of tasks. Tomorrow they will be giving Claire a bath and instructing us on all the things to do.
And last but not least...her poop is yellow! I know you all wanted to know that. For those of you who know what that means, you know then that the bili light is having a positive effect. I just wanted a reason to talk about poop. After all, I did change my first diaper ever just a few days ago.

Yay yellow poop:) Too funny! Sounds like things are going well and she should be home with you in no time! We have been meaning to call you guys but figured we'd wait until you are home and settled a little more. We are thinking of you and praying she gets to come home soon!
Thanks so much for keeping us all in the loop. It means a lot to be connected as much as we can be from a distance! Showering you with love!
Congratulations!! I can't believe I am reading about the delivery of Claire and it's not even thanksgiving! We will be praying that things continue to go well. I guess I better get Claire's gift in the mail soon! We are so happy for you guys. love,Kristen
