Well folks, it looks like the drama isn't over yet. Emma had a fever over the weekend and was pretty fussy. Even though she was still on her antibiotic from her last ear infection, I knew she must have another. So, even though her ear re-check was scheduled for Friday, I called and had it moved up to today. Good thing I did... she's got another ear infection!! That makes 5 ear infections in 3 months (3 of those 5 ear infections in the month of March alone!!) The doctor said it's time for tubes, since antibiotics aren't able to clear up these infections she keeps getting. She got a shot of rocephin (a strong antibiotic) before we left and is scheduled for a consult with the ENT on Thursday. Funny thing is - Claire's follow up from her tube surgery is this Thursday so when Dr. Shaw said they'd call to have the consult set up for Emma, I told her we are already going on Thursday and asked her to see if they can just both be seen then. Glad that worked out! :)
Oh, and Claire's ear has been draining since Sunday. So thankful those tubes are doing their job! This is the second time they have drained since her surgery a month ago. These would have both been ear infections if we didn't have the tubes!! I'm so ready for Emma to have them too.
Our insurance company is gonna love us... 2 surgeries and 1 hospital admission in 1 month. Do you think we've set some kind of record?! ;)

Emma's situation sounds exactly like Olivia's last year. Her left ear never got better between February and June and then they finally did tubes. They still drained every time she would get teeth but now that she has all of her teeth they have slowed WAY down. As for the drops - we have gone through 2 bottle of the ciprodex but I am hoping to not have to pay for another if we can help it. Not sure how much your insurance covers of those but even with our insurance we were still paying over $100 out of pocket for those - I call it liquid gold and often joke that I need to buy a safe to store it in. Anyway, hope Emma's consult goes well and that she can get some relief soon. You have been a trooper - hopefully it is all over soon!
I think our insurance wanted to drop us after we got back with Esias and had a lot of fun at the doctors/hospitals too! So thankful for insurance!!
