On being a big sister

Claire is one of those little girls that just loves babies.  It used to just be all about her dolls but lately she LOVES real babies and helping to take care of them.  (Don't get me wrong.. she still won't let us go anywhere without one of her beloved dolls in tow!)  Whenever we see a baby, she goes right up to him or her, uses her best mama voice, gets down on their level, and says, "Hi Baby!"  She loves giving them their paci or toy.  It's just so precious.  She even takes time out of her playing to play with babies.  She did this the other day at the play area in the mall and at the park.  Instead of just playing and running around, she came over to where the babies were and wanted to play with them for awhile.  I love that about her.

And she also really loves being a big sister.  Of course, Emma doesn't interfere too much with her daily life just yet - she can't crawl or get to Claire's toys yet, so I'm sure this will change.  But, Claire really loves her.  She asks me at least 2 times every day if she can hold Emma.  Even when Emma pulls her hair or drools on her, Claire still wants to hold her and she doesn't get mad.  I love how much these two adore each other.  It makes all of the hard days of being a mama to two little ones so worth it!

Oh, and speaking of babies, do you know what Claire's favorite movie is?!  Not Dora, not Barney, not Veggie Tales, but the documentary Babies!!!  She has watched it at least 10 times (thank you, Netflix!) and it still isn't old.  As a matter of fact, that's what she's doing right this minute! :)

These pictures of your girls are great! Oh how I wish Abbie was the same way with Olivia. Abbie also LOVES babies but has had a really hard time adjusting to life with a little sister. We have made progress though so I am going to be thankful for the little things. As for the babies movie...I loved it. I didn't think of showing it to Abbie though - great idea. We might have to try that this week.
